One evening around Thanksgiving, I had left the television on the Food Network and a new episode of The Barefoot Contessa came on. Now, GFB is not a fan of Ina, but I just might have convinced him otherwise..
This particular episode she was making Easy Sticky Buns. The finished product had me drooling. I decided I HAD to make it.
Whole foods carries a wonderful brand of puff pastry -so I stopped by and picked some up. After letting it thaw, I rolled it out, brushed it with copious amounts of butter, and sprinkled a generous amount of sugar, cinnamon and small chopped pecans on top.
Next I carefully rolled it up, and cut the dough into 1 1/2 inch tall pieces. Before placing them in the muffin tins, I mixed one stick of softened butter with with 1 cup of light brown sugar and a handful of pecans, then placed about tablespoon of the mixture in the bottom of each cup.
I popped them into a hot 425 degree oven for about 25 minutes. The result was mouthwatering…
These aren’t on the “New Years” diet plan, and I am still thinking about them two months later…
Do you have a favorite guilty pleasure you make from time to time?
