A few months ago, I decided to begin using the Twitter account I had signed up for two years prior but never bothered to use. I have met some amazing people that I most probably would never have met otherwise. Artists, Musicians, Foodies (my fav!), Chefs and more. Enter Sheri Guyse (otherwise known as @MyJrny on twitter). Sheri is the communications director for GoodEgg Dining Group, which owns Red PrimeSteak, Cheever’s, Iron Starr BBQ, RePUBlic Gastropub, and their latest endeavor, Tuckers Onion Burgers.
Sheri was kind enough to offer me up a couple of seats at the soft opening of Tuckers to experience the awesomeness that R. Keith Paul, Chef Robert Black, and crew had created. A good burger is like a good book. You are instantly engrossed in it, and by the end, you are completely enthralled. And these, friends, are amazing burgers. Tuckers atmosphere is clean, fresh and offers a bit of nostalgia with the neon signs and counter seating. GFB and I went for lunch, and had already heard through the grapevine that the “Mother Tucker” was the burger to get. (TUCKER, it says TUCKER.) So, what’s a Mother Tucker you ask? Well, on their website, the Mother Tucker is listed as over one pound of meaty, onion deliciousness. And they were right. Since GFB couldn’t in good conscience finish a burger that big (he’s watching his girlish figure), we decided to share. However, I also wanted to try the Frito Salad, so I snagged one of those too.
The burger was fantastic. Every juicy bite. The onions were perfectly cooked, the bun was soft but didn’t get soggy like some do, and the cheese melted into gooey goodness. You won’t wanna miss this:

And after all this amazing goodness, can you believe we FORGOT to order fries!? Almost unimaginable I know, but we did. We will be back for sure though, to enjoy more burgers and this time a side of fries at Tuckers Onion Burgers in OKC.

I just recently downed the Mother Tucker myself, only to see that a couple of days, some dude polished off not one, but 2 (yeah, I said TWO) Mother Tuckers!!
