Upper Crust opened an Edmond location a few months ago just blocks from my house. The original location is in Classen Curve and although I had visited it a couple of times, this second spot is very convenient. (Maybe too convenient!)
The restaurant is the perfect mix of family atmosphere and adult hangout. There is a large bar with open seating if you want to grab a quick bite and an adult beverage or you can be seated a table. Upon seating, many restaurants will provide kids with a piece of paper and four crayons expecting their creative juices to flow. Unfortunately, for my 8 and
11 12 year old, crayons don’t cut it. So to my delight, the girls were handed packages of Wikki Stix. Wikki Stix are non-toxic wax sticks that can be formed into almost any shape and are fun for kids ages 2-92. BRILLIANT.
Now for those of you that know me, I like wine but beer is my favorite adult beverage. Upper Crust doesn’t disappoint in that area either. I was thrilled to see local craft brews on the menu, including Mustang and CoopAle, but they also carry German dunkel and hefeweizen which GFB prefers. Nothing better than pizza and beer if you ask me. Don’t forget to ask about the weekly special on-tap as they rotate weekly.
Desserts are limited to Apple Pie or Cookie Pie, but after stuffing myself with pizza, dessert is the last thing I want. That said, we have ordered the cookie pie for the four of us to share and it is REALLY good. (So if you have room, or a couple of kids- go for it. It’s worth it.)
Upper Crust is open daily at 11am for lunch service and stays open late (11pm) Fridays and Saturdays. They also offer curbside to-go if you’re looking for a quick easy dinner option. My favorite night to enjoy Upper Crust is Sundays, because it’s pizza and a pitcher night for only $20. If you are a wine drinker like my friend Lisa, then stop in for dinner either Monday or Tuesday for Pizza and a Bottle night for only $25. Heck of a deal if you ask me. If that isn’t enough, there are about 10 televisions throughout the restaurant so you can catch a Thunder game and stuff yourself.
If you’ve enjoyed lunch or dinner at Upper Crust, I’d love to hear what your favorite pizza is!
